I was blessed to visit Elaine in 1994. Here Elaine poses with Heather Buford, her roommate, at their apartment. They're holding my oldest child, Kyria, who visited with me.

Recently, I learned to drive a standard, after we purchased a non-automatic car. I've been thinking about Elaine driving us all around San Francisco, to show me around. I think she had a standard back then, and now I'm impressed with how she drove on those steep hills!!! We even did Lombard St., in the rain!

During that visit, Elaine was so intent on introducing me to her friends, esp. at church. (I think Patrick was in one of the groups of people to which she introduced me there.) She wanted me to connect with the people she cared about. Relationships were always so important to her, and I so admired her for her effort at them.
