There is so much I could write about my dear friend Elaine. I'll start my first posting at the beginning...
I first met Elaine 6 years ago in a New Mom's support class through El Camino Hospital when our babies were only 1-2 months old. Most of us were brand new moms, anxious about doing the right thing for our babies, eager for answers, and looking to Donna (the instructor) and one another for support. I remember going around the room, each of us taking turns sharing about our recent birthing experience. Elaine shared about how quick and smooth her labor and delivery were with Justin. I distinctly remember her saying how blessed she was. She was always very humble.
I never expected that that would be the beginning of some very special friendships that have lasted through the years, with Elaine becoming a very close friend to me.
We got to be better friends when we shared our second pregnancy together (delivering 3 days apart), and we sent our kids to the same preschool. Justin and Katy were in the same class, and we had lots of opportunities to share life together both through the school and outside of school. Elaine was always very intentional about our friendship, taking initiative to get together, to make sure we and our kids spent time together.
There's more I will write in a future posting about what a good friend Elaine was to me and to others. I will miss her terribly.
